Ox Industries announced that it has successfully restarted the White Pigeon Paper Mill in Michigan after it is was closed for almost three months. Ox acquired the mill from Graphic Packaging in June and has since converted the mill from clay coated recycled paperboard (CRB) to high strength uncoated recycled paperboard (URB).

"This is a significant opportunity for OX and the local community. Our team members have worked extremely hard to bring this facility back to life with a new purpose that ensures environmental stewardship and a solid platform for growth," said Kevin Hayward, CEO of Ox Industries.

"The unique characteristics of this paper machine give us opportunities to expand our vertically integrated platform of producing green 100% recycled paper products," Hayward added.

According to the company, the White Pigeon Mill will add 80,000 tons of URB capacity to Ox's current mill system. Additional upgrades are being planned to increase the output and overall facility of the White Pigeon Mill over the next two years.
