Voith has enhanced its commitment to the North American paper industry with the installation of one of the largest looms of its kind in North America. The multi-million dollar investment will allow the manufacturer to provide perfectly fit dewatering fabrics for its customers across North America and worldwide markets.

“We officially placed into operation one of the largest looms of its kind in the North American paper industry with a total weaving width just over 17 meters. said Jeff Berg, Vice President Operations, Voith Paper Fabric & Rolls Systems North America, at the inauguration event held at Voith Paper Fabric & Rolls Systems’ facility in Appleton, Wisconsin, on November 13. “Because of the laminated structure of the woven fabric that maintains void volume throughout operation, press fabrics created on the Infinity loom allow higher running speeds and ultimately result in the generation of more product for our customers.”

“With this new level of quality and efficiency, the Infinity loom will be used to create a global supply of base cloth material and to support the continued growth of the Board and Packaging market in North America,” said Richard Berry, Senior Vice President Sales, Voith Paper Fabric & Rolls Systems North America.

The Infinity family of Voith’s press fabrics produced on the Infinity loom include the ToughLine and FineLine series, both of which offer highly uniform, top-quality base fabrics.
