New cooperation Koehler Paper Group & Polo Handels AG

The German family-owned Koehler Paper Group, world market leader for Thermal Paper, announced on Oct. 11, 2018 total investments of EUR 500 million by 2020. The biggest part is dedicated to a new speciality paper machine for flexible packaging, which will start being operated by end of 2019.
 
Polo Handels AG was chosen as the competent partner to market those products in Central and Eastern Europe. Together with Polo, Koehler wants to work on the future business success of one side coated papers including barrier functions and sealability.

Focused end-use areas will be: chocolate/cereal bars, pudding and cereals, sugar sticks, ice cream cones, pouches for dry food e.g. rice, soups as well as pet food, yoghurt banderoles and lids and many others.

The Koehler Paper Group can look back on 210 years of company history, with a turnover of around €800 million it is now one of the few independent, family-owned German companies in the paper industry.
 
At the headquarters in Oberkirch and the plants in Kehl, Greiz, and Weisenbach, around 1,850 people produce already over 500,000 tons of specialty paper and board each year for the global market using the very latest technology.
