The Schumacher Packaging Group, Germany, one of the largest family-run manufacturers of packaging solutions made from corrugated and solid board, has significantly expanded its production and storage capacities at its site in Breda, the Netherlands. To do this, the Breda plant has moved to a new, much larger, building.

The last machine was relocated to the new plant yesterday (Dec. 6, 2017). The new building will triple the production area for the display specialists to 15,000 sq. meters. At this site, the packaging manufacturer will now also have a brand new pallet warehouse with space for 7,500 pallets.

Those Schumacher Packaging customers for whom the Breda plant manufactures displays will benefit from the site expansion in particular. Customers in the Netherlands and Belgium who acquire corrugated and solid cardboard packaging from Schumacher Packaging plants in Germany will also experience the benefits of just-in-time services as a result of the new pallet warehouse.

In addition, a handling service provider that fills packaging, as well as building and equipping displays, will soon set up operations at the new site in Breda, which covers a total area of around 50,000 sq. meters. For customers, this also means better service, shorter transport distances, and faster delivery times.

"By relocating, we will triple our production area and increase our company premises seven-fold," explained Luc Swaenen, managing director of Schumacher Packaging & Display. "It is only by taking this step that we can continue on our growth course at the Breda site and further expand our leading position in digital printing. The large pallet warehouse will also provide us and our customers with entirely new logistics options," Swaenen continued. "The Schumacher Packaging Group took over Vinke Display in Breda in 2014 and we have benefited from a great many synergy effects ever since. We are continuing this success story by investing in the subsequent expansion of the Breda site."
