Acorn Paper Products Co., Los Angeles, Calif., USA, one of the largest independent paper and packaging companies in the Western U.S., challenges all of its customers for a third year to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate this holiday season.

"As a business that has been family owned and operated in the Los Angeles area for more than 70 years, we are very connected to the community at large and feel a responsibility to give to those in need year round. But when it comes to the holiday season we feel an extra obligation to give, and challenge our customers and extended family to do the same," stated Acorn Paper Products CEO David Weissberg. "Since starting our Holiday Challenge, we have donated more than 1,500 lb. of canned food and 25-plus boxes of toys to those in need. Every year the donations we receive during our Holiday Challenge exceed our goals, and with the support of our generous employees, customers, and community, we expect this year to be no different."

"For the third time, our Holiday Challenge will consist of two separate challenges. The first challenge will be to collect at least 400 lb. of canned food that will be donated to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The second part of our Holiday Challenge will be to fill at least 10 boxes of toys that will be donated to the Cedars-Sinai's Maxine Dunitz Children's Health Center. The organization that fills up the highest number of boxes throughout our Holiday Challenge will win a lunch party for up to 40 people.," Weissberg explained.

"We are grateful for Acorn Paper's ongoing support to collect food and spread awareness around the issue of hunger in LA County," stated Araceli Martinez, Food Drive Coordinator at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.

"At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's Maxine Dunitz Children's Health Center, play is a part of our care plan. We know that when hospitalized children engage in play, they are well on the road to healing. We are so grateful to all of the folks at Acorn Paper Products for their commitment to providing toys for our young patients through their 2017 Holiday Challenge," said Sandie Sternberg, Child Life Services coordinator at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.

Founded in 1946, Acorn Paper is a full line supplier of packaging and janitorial and sanitary products, offering a full range of stock and custom packaging solutions, including the largest stock corrugated program in southern California, a wine packaging division, a janitorial and sanitary program, a creative services department, and much more. Privately held and headquartered for four generations in Los Angeles, Acorn Paper has more than 350 employees and 500,000-plus sq. ft. of manufacturing and warehouse space in Los Angeles, Vacaville, San Luis Obispo, Santa Fe Sprints, and Miami.
