Scholle IPN, Northlake, Ill., USA, a global flexible packaging solutions company, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Santiago, Chile. The new plant is capable of producing bag-in-box style flexible packaging for institutional and retail markets and consumer-friendly spouted pouch packaging.

"Scholle IPN has 14 packaging manufacturing sites, two filling equipment manufacturing sites, and four sales offices located across five continents. Our strategy has always been to build and manufacture in locations that best-serve our customers and their markets in an economic and logistically-smart way. The Latin American region has an impressive growth rate, and we identified Chile as a key country and location from which to establish production and service," said Eli Carmeli, president and CEO for Scholle IPN. "Our goal is to build and grow long-term, deep relationships with our customers and their markets. By locating ourselves in places that matter most to them, we are positioned to continue as a valued partner and market leader in flexible packaging."

Ademir Fragnani, GM of Latin America for Scholle IPN, said that "the plant in Santiago is designed specifically for our manufacturing processes. The 2,000 sq. meter  building includes offices, a warehouse, and a clean room environment for specialized manufacturing of spouted pouches and bag-in-box. By incorporating the quality manufacturing procedures used in our Vinhedo, Brazil location, we are able to quickly scale production of bag-in-box packaging in sizes from 3- to 220-liters as well as our smaller format CleanPouch™ product line across two production shifts. The additional capacity we are adding in the region also gives our customers a sense of comfort in that we can help them better manage supply risks. I am excited to see how this group of packaging professionals will help our customers expand their business and win in their markets."

Scholle IPN is a major player in production of flexible packaging for wine, processed fruits and vegetables, dairy products, and aseptic juices in the Latin American market. More about Scholle IPN and the Santiago facility is available online.

Scholle IPN is a global leader in flexible packaging solutions for bag-in-box, pouches, components, fitments, connectors, and filling equipment.
