West Linn Paper Co., West Linn, Ore., USA, has launched Sonoma®Jet, a high-speed, digital inkjet matte paper with 88 brightness and available in 45 lb. and 60 lb. basis weights. The web matte grades are designed to work on high-speed, inkjet presses and provide printers with outstanding ink holdout and press performance.

"The digital inkjet market is looking for a coated sheet that raises the bar on performance," said Tom Gallagher, president of sales for West Linn Paper. "Initial results show that the Sonoma Jet paper delivers quality press performance and a rich breadth of color on pigment-based inkjet presses."

Available in 45 lb. and 60 lb. matte, the Sonoma Jet paper is ideal for books, brochures, direct mail, and high-run personalized documents. The Sonoma Jet grade offers excellent opacity, printability, ink mileage, and throughput and bindery efficiency, which results in enhanced quality and lower costs for the printer.

"As the high-speed digital inkjet market continues to grow, we expect to see an increased demand for high-quality and cost-effective coated paper solutions," Gallagher continued, "and West Linn Paper plans to utilize our flexible manufacturing and product innovation to be a partner with our customers to fill that need."

West Linn Paper Co. is an independent manufacturer of C2S and C1S coated free-sheet, inkjet, and specialty packaging web papers and is the oldest active paper mill in the western U.S. The high-quality Sonoma® and Capistrano® brands are well-known and well-respected in the printing industry for their print quality and runnability.
