Velvet Care to Expand Tissue Mill in Poland

Velvet Care, Poland, is investing PLN 160 million (EUR 37 million) to build new production capacity at its tissue mill in Klucze, Poland. The company reportedly will purchase a new tissue machine that will raise its output capacity by about 70,000 metric tpy..
According to a report this week by PulPaperNews.com, Marek Sciazko, deputy president of Velvet Care, told local daily Gazeta Krakowska that, currently, the factory is operated by about 370 employees. This year, the plant’s workforce was raised by 60 employees, and by the end of this year, Velvet Care could hire an additional 30 employees.
