CCL Industries Inc., Toronto, Ont., Canada, a global producer of specialty label and packaging solutions for global corporations, small businesses, and consumers, this week announced that it has appointed a new president for its Checkpoint business, effective January 2017.

John Dargan joins CCL from Jabil Circuit Inc., a large, publicly quoted electronics manufacturer headquartered in Florida, USA, where he heads strategic development for new business ventures. Prior to Jabil, Dargan was CEO of Worldmark Ltd., a private equity owned label business based in Scotland, servicing large OEM customers in the electronics space. CCL acquired Worldmark in 2015 some years after Dargan joined Jabil in the U.S. He will be based at Checkpoint's headquarters in Thorofare, N.J.

Geoffrey T. Martin, president and CEO of CCL, said that "a number of us at CCL have known John for some time and we are very pleased to have him join our company. Checkpoint is a technology-driven labeling solutions business and John's background in developing electronic hardware, global supply chain operations, and the label converting industry makes him ideally suited to lead Checkpoint's development."
