In October 2015, Yuen Foong Yu (YFY), China, signed a contract with PMP, Poland, to rebuild TM 7 at its Ching Shui Mill (Taiwan). The delivery included a steel Intelli-YD®, an Intelli-Hood®, and a steam and condensate system. On Aug. 16, 2016, TM 7, equipped with PMP’s state-of-the-art technology, successfully started up.

The scope of supply included a 12 ft. steel yankee dryer designed and manufactured by PMP (2,420 mm sheet width on  the yankee), a high efficiency yankee hood supplied with an air fan – Intelli-Hood, and steam and condensate equipment. The yankee is designed with steel welded construction and bolted on journals.

To increase the yankee’s efficiency, PMP offered optimized and tailor-made solutions. The Intelli-YD designed for YFY is capable of operating up to 9.5 bar(g) of steam pressure and a maximum design speed of 1,200 m/min. Additionally, PMP exchanged the existing steam yankee hood with a yankee cap to reduce steam consumption. Changes in the steam and condensate system were implemented to fit new system conditions.
