In Memoriam: Dennis White

Dennis White was a professional who had been a member of TAPPI since 1989. He was a Level III AE, Level III UT, and renowned as one of the world's best experts on acoustic emission of yankee dryers. Between 1983 and 1999 he had five patents filed in his name, primarily in the field of ultrasonic inspection of paper mill components.
 
Between 2000 and 2010, Dennis wrote two more fundamentally important papers on acoustic emission for TAPPI as well as serving on multiple task groups and subcommittees as well as making numerous presentation at meetings for the association. His last position in the private sector was with JLM Advanced Technical Services.
 
Dennis will be remembered for his ability to understand the advanced science of machine inspection. White's interests and great talents in the industry were centered around maintenance, energy and power, and quality control/testing.
