KapStone Container Corp., Northbrook, Ill., USA, a maker of corrugated and paper packaging, will spend $4.5 million to expand its Bowling Green, Ky., operation (photo). The news came quickly during the past week after the Kentucky Economic Development Authority gave preliminary approval of $400,000 in tax incentives if the company purchases new machinery, equipment, and makes facility upgrades. The project plans to increase 30 permanent jobs to meet increased production demands."Today’s announcement is a demonstration that KapStone Container continues to build on its growth as a leading national manufacturer in its field," Gov. Steve Beshear said in a news release. "We’ve worked hard with our community partners to make southcentral Kentucky attractive to businesses, and that work is paying off. I’m proud of the new jobs and such a significant investment here in Bowling Green."
KapStone Container is a subsidiary of KapStone Paper and Packaging Corp. The company is a producer of unbleached kraft paper and corrugated packaging products.
