"Road to Tissue" Event Set for May 23 in Italy

The Club Tecnologia e Passione, Italy, will present "LE VIE DEL TISSUE" (The Road of Tissue) on May 23 in Lucca Italy. This will be an international meeting, promoted and organized by the Club, to learn and discuss different aspects and realities of the tissue paper industry. The program will include:
  • A roundtable
  • An exhibition of tissue products from different countries of the world
  • An exhibition of a tissue handkerchief collection
  • An award ceremony of excellence and a special prize.

The roundtable will include managers and entrepreneurs of companies outside of Europe, as well as producers of tissue paper, invited by the Club as guest speakers. The event represents a unique opportunity at the international level to meet, learn, and discuss different aspects of the tissue paper industry and to emphasize the excellence existing in every country. It provides the opportunity to speak about differences in every production system and of the markets, with the aim of highlighting innovation, curiosities, and peculiarities. It is also an excellent opportunity to develop a relationship among people of this industrial sector, the organizers emphasized.

Guest speakers invited to the 2014 edition include:

  • Japan—Takei Sano, president of Marutomi Paper Manufacturing Co.
  • Middle East South Sahara—Riad Baloukji, CEO of Gruppo Boulos, Nigeria
  • Arab Countries—Helmut Berger, CEO of Abu Dabi National Paper Mill
  • Hungary—Ferenc Bodrogai, CEO of Forest Paper Ltd.

Led by Jonathan Roberts, the roundtable provides time for 20 min. speeches and time for questions from attendees. The event will also include an exhibition of tissue products from various countries. The awards contest is open to young engineering graduates, and a special prize will be awarded to an original international patent in the paper sector.
