International Pulp Bleaching Conference Issues Call for Papers

Held every three years, IPBC is the world’s most important conference dedicated to all chemical and process aspects of pulp bleaching. The next conference will be held October 29-31, 2014, in Grenoble, France, right in the heart of the French Alps. The scientific program for the 2014 IPBC will consist of keynote lectures, plenary technical sessions (no parallel sessions), and poster sessions focusing on the newest developments and research advances in pulp bleaching. The conference selection of presentations is made by the scientific committee composed of renowned international experts in the field.

A call for papers has been issued with a deadline of March 31, 2014.

The following topics will be considered for presentation:

  • Bleachability of chemical pulps
  • Optimum balance between cooking and bleaching
  • Bleaching and purification of dissolving grade pulps
  • Advances in bleaching sequences
  • Recent technological developments for bleaching stages
  • New bleaching agents
  • Catalysis of bleaching stages
  • Latest developments in biobleaching processes
  • New aspects in bleaching chemistry
  • Chemical structure of chromophores
  • New analytical techniques for bleaching studies
  • Impact of bleaching on pulp and cellulose properties
  • Improvement of brightness stability
  • Management of bleaching effluents.
