Sun Automation Group, Sparks Glencoe, Md., USA, will open a new service center in Singapore in January 2014, improving the company’s ability to service customers in the region. The service center is part of Sun Automation Group's strategic plan to grow its business in Asia.

The focus of the new center is on providing spare parts, direct service, and care to Sun’s End User and OEM customers, including those using Langston, Staley, Koppers, Ward, and United technology.

The Singapore facility is headed by Colin Goh, Asian direct sales manager. The objective is to establish the Singapore office as a hub for the Asian operations, excluding China. The technical focus is on rebuilds and repairs, including transmissions. The service center can also take on light assembly. To provide quick turn-around, this facility will have an inventory of parts in stock to better service customer’s needs. The center will also provide field service support throughout the region.

Adam Chia will continue to provide regional field service support from the Singapore office. Ian Cutts will continue to support Sun’s OEM customers in Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. The Chinese operations based at Sun’s Guangzhou facility, will continue to operate under Frank Lu, who manages all sales, assembly, and aftermarket services with support from Sun U.S.
Sun Automation Group has also appointed new country agents to support the growth plans for Asia—Nasindo located in Indonesia, Aktiv Multi Trade in the Philippines and in Thailand, and Siam Precision Supply LTD. The new agents report to Goh in Singapore.

Sun Automation Group is a recognized leader in the corrugated industry. The company has expertise in feeding, printing, and converting, which it provides to OEM and End Users.
