U.S. P&W Papers Flat in August

As reported by Mark Wilde of Deutsche Bank, the price for U.S. lightweight coated (LWC) grades (No. 5 – 40 lb.) averaged $875 per ton in August, which was flat compared with July. LWC prices ranged from $680 to $1,240 per ton.

Coated free sheet (No. 3 rolls - 60 lb.) in the U.S. averaged $955 per ton in August, up $5 per ton compared with July. Prices ranged from $720 to $1,100 per ton. August prices for uncoated free sheet (20 lb – repro bond) ranged from $650 to $1,200 per ton, averaging $1,015 per ton, which was flat compared with July, according to Wilde. .

U.S. August newsprint prices averaged $605 per ton, generally flat compared with July. Newsprint prices ranged between $415 and $800 per ton, Wilde reported.
