Georgia-Pacific will invest $800 million to modernise and expand its Alabama River Cellulose mill. Once operational, that facility will become the largest and most advanced softwood pulp plant in the United States.
Mohammedia – GPC Papier et Carton, part of Ynna Holding and Morocco’s leader in paper and corrugated cardboard packaging, has announced a MAD 500 million ($55.56 million) investment to modernize its Mohammedia site. This move aims to boost capacity, adopt new technology, and create jobs in an industry facing growing global and local demand.
The Federation of Paper Traders’ Associations of India (FPTA) has sent an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing concern over the recent increase in Goods and Services Tax (GST) on Paper & Paperboard (Chapter 48) from 12% to 18%.

Voith, the leading full-line supplier, has successfully completed the PM 6 rebuild project for Stora Enso in the northern-most university city in Europe, Oulu in northern Finland. The modernized plant will now achieve an impressive annual capacity of 750,000 tons of high-quality folding boxboard and coated kraft back (CKB), at a wire width of 9,000 mm.
