Canfor Pulp Products Inc. reported its second quarter of 2025 results. The company reported an operating loss of $5.3 million for the second quarter of 2025, compared to operating income of $10.8 million for the first quarter of 2025.

International Paper reported second quarter 2025 net earnings (loss) of $75 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, and adjusted operating earnings (non-GAAP) of $105 million, or $0.20 per diluted share. Second quarter 2025 net sales were $6.8 billion.

The pulp and paper landscape has redefined itself over the past 15 years.
In 2022, full-line supplier Voith successfully commissioned a Compact Dispersion System in the stock preparation of PM 70 at Saica Paper in Nogent-sur-Seine followed in 2023 by a Compact Dispersion System for stock preparation on PM 60 at Saica Paper's Champblain site in Laveyron. In response to persistent structural overcapacity in the graphic paper sector and to secure the long-term competitiveness of its operations, UPM Communication Papers has unveiled plans to halt paper manufacturing at the UPM Kaukas mill in Lappeenranta, Finland. The move would reduce the company’s annual coated mechanical paper capacity by approximately 300,000 metric tons.
