The pulp and paper team at the Tumut mill has been honored with the Excellence in Sustainability Award at the 2025 Business Snowy Valleys Awards.

 

The recognition highlights the mill’s progress in three key areas: increasing the diversion of materials from landfill for beneficial reuse, significantly reducing natural gas consumption, and achieving some of the lowest water usage rates per ton of paper produced in the industry.

 

These initiatives not only improve the site’s environmental performance but also demonstrate how operational efficiency and sustainability can go hand in hand in the pulp and paper sector.
