Every year, TAPPI invests in students who are working hard to build their future in the pulp, paper, packaging, tissue, and converting industries. We recognize that pursuing a degree requires both dedication and resources, and these scholarships are designed to support your academic goals.
Scholarship applications for the 2026–2027 academic year are now open. Available awards include the $4,000 William L. Cullison Scholarship, multiple Technical Division Scholarships, and the TAPPI Horizon Scholarship, which offers three (3) $2,000 awards to support inclusion within the pulp, paper, packaging, and converting fields.
Students are encouraged to apply for all scholarships they qualify for, as each award can ease financial pressure and contribute to academic success.
As you prepare your application, this is a great time to gather the materials that will strengthen your submission. Many scholarships require at least one letter of recommendation, which may come from professors, advisors, research leads, internship supervisors, or co-op mentors who know your work. Reaching out early ensures they have enough time to prepare a strong reference on your behalf.

TAPPI also encourages students to connect directly with the industry in person. Registration is now open for the TAPPI-PIMA Student Summit 2026, taking place January 17-19, 2026 in Birmingham, Alabama. Student Summit is designed specifically for students and provides an environment to explore career paths, meet representatives from hiring companies, and build relationships with peers from across the country.
Take the time to invest in yourself. These opportunities are here to support your path forward and to remind you that you have a place in this industry.
