Highly Rated TAPPI Kraft Course Reaches 10 Year Mark

June 2019 -- Registration is underway now for one of TAPPI’s most popular and highly regarded courses offered for ten years - the TAPPI Introduction to Kraft Pulping and Bleaching Course.  This two-day course is scheduled for Aug. 13-14 at the newly revamped TAPPI Academy Training Center at TAPPI’s headquarters in Peachtree Corners, Georgia.
"This is the only course that provides introductory content covering pulping, bleaching and recovery into a two-day format, making it a great value and efficient time investment," said course instructor, Michael Kocurek, PhD, Professor Emeritus of Paper Science & Engineering at North Carolina State University. "The comprehensive nature of the course’s content makes it a must attend for anyone needing to get up to speed quickly on kraft pulping and bleaching."

Participants will expand their overall understanding of kraft pulp mill operations, including a broadened awareness of how one part of the process effects other operations and the effect of processes on kraft pulp quality.  Additionally, participants will learn how to troubleshoot product quality problems and gain the ability to improve kraft mill operations.

This course is ideal for anyone new to the kraft pulping process, particularly process engineers and operators.

"The Introduction to Kraft Pulping and Bleaching Course is the kind of training that offers a view of the entire puzzle, so to speak, rather than a detailed focus on one or two operations, " said Dr. Kocurek.  "There are few if any other courses that combine this field of focus into one. This is an ideal course for anyone who wants to better understand kraft pulping and bleaching operations and processes, pulp grades and products, and what they can do to enhance their own job performance."

For more information on the topics covered view the course schedule.  TAPPI will award 1.3 CEUs for completion of this course.

Early registration discounts through July 12 are offered to TAPPI members, non-members, young professionals and groups of three or more people from the same locations.
