Name: Tania Kasongo

MPI Potomac Leadership Position: Community outreach and industry advocacy committee chair

What do you do when you are not working on MPI Potomac Chapter?
Manager, Global Outreach & Marketing Events at American Chemical Society

What is your superpower?
Remaining calm under immense pressure.

What’s on your bucket list?
Meeting Oprah Winfrey (personal) and getting my PMP (professional).

In one word, what does MPI community mean to you?
Welcoming.

What motivated you to sign up for the committee chair position?
I've been involved in community outreach since childhood by volunteering for different organizations. Then as an adult, I began to take on more leadership opportunities, such as boards or executive committees. Thankfully, Evan Nielson and Tracy Cooper set up an excellent system/foundation that allowed me to be brave enough to take on this RESPONSIBILITY.

What do you hope to get out of chairing your committee this year?
Building more valuable relationships and partnerships within MPI and the Potomac community and doing truly impactful work for our wonderful community.
