Last week, AMC was pleased to present, with the Edmonton International Airport (EIA), a unique speaker session and tour of the EIA featuring:

  • Jeannette Guertin President and Owner of Supreme International Limited;
  • Norm Richard, Director Air Service Development with the Edmonton International Airport; and,
  • Fred Gorrell, Assistant Deputy Minister of the Market and Industry Services branch of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

Jeannette revealed key elements of what Supreme International Limited has done to grow both domestically and internationally. She revealed some of the trials and triumphs experienced by her and her team over the years but perhaps most importantly, she inspired those in the audience to look at how they do business internationally and encouraged them to take calculated risks.

Norm revealed the expansion plans for the Edmonton International Airport while also identifying some positive key performance indicators that differentiate the Edmonton Airport from others in terms of how they handle cargo and passengers.

Fred balanced the speakers off with a compliment to agricultural equipment manufacturers for their high quality and innovative products. He provided an overview of key priorities for the federal government ranging from increasing our exports from $56 billion / year to $75 billion by 2025 to working with other departments to ensure the contributions of agriculture equipment manufacturers are well known. Fred’s presentation can be downloaded HERE.
