Here we are. The month of extremes. Weather changes in more pleasing ways.  Every day lasts a little bit longer. Those around us are anxious and relieved. Milestones are being met, while new beginnings linger in the background. June: The Gateway to Summer.

The month of June marks the end of the first half of the calendar year. However, for those who work in education, it also marks the end of an era – another school year. Yet we know too well that we are in education because of our desire for Life-Long Learning. It may mean we choose to improve ourselves to be ready for a new September.

We look forward to summer days and vacation time. We relish thinking about sleeping in and not making lunches. This is also a time to part ways with some with whom we’ve had a connection for the past 10 months or years beyond. We’ve changed; they’ve changed.

Make the most out of the two incredibly shortest months ahead – despite both having thirty-one days!  Get creative and enjoy. Most importantly, be easy on yourself.

It isn’t about the big pleasures that count the most.

It’s about making a big deal out of the little ones.
