OSCAnews
Featured Highlights

The winter issue of OSCA Today is themed, "We Got This!". Our schools look and feel different. Our students, although optimistic, feel uncertain. Our day-to-day routine as educators has been disrupted and we have been forced to become creative and adapt in unfamiliar territory. And yet, we are managing. We got this! For the next issue of OSCA Today, the OSCA Board is seeking out OSCA members to share their experiences in the Guidance Office, the classroom, in the Board office or a post secondary institution. How are you navigating through a school year like no other? Share your tips for mental health and well-being. Have you experienced any silver linings within this ongoing crisis? Reach out to us so we can create a space for you in our next issue! New contributions are welcome. Contributions can be submitted in French, English or both languages. Please send your proposal, outlining your topic area to oscadesk@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Notable changes include the introduction of target dates for data transmission, allowing numerous opportunities for high schools / school boards to submit marks as they become available.

During the pandemic, we know that people are in situations that they did not expect. Maybe you were really excited to perform in the school play or to go to prom, and now those things have been cancelled. Maybe just having to be home and not being able to see your friends as much is really hard.

Education
School closures and re-openings have shifted the way we offer equity-based education this year but the CCGSD Programs Department is working hard to support teachers and students across Canada during COVID-19. We spent the summer developing new visibility resources, poster kits, and history-based booklets and are excited to share them with you throughout the year.

As we continue our transition to offering more remote and digital learning, we are constantly working to adapt our content. We are committed to keeping our content accessible, relevant, and in accordance with provincial curriculum objectives. There are many ways to enhance your students’ digital learning experience with CCGSD!
