What our students are saying…
“This AQ Part 1 course is my favorite AQ course so far. The live classes with role-playing set this course apart; my co-workers who have done this course did not have an opportunity to do this in their virtual courses. Angela has been an amazing instructor—her kindness, calmness, and clarity are conveyed in her lessons and messages and reminds me of how an experienced guidance teacher/counselor should be like. Thank you for a great course! I am looking forward to taking part 2 soon."

"Angela is an excellent teacher. She is very knowledgeable and adapts to the group. It is my second time taking a class with her. I find her content relevant and interesting. She is very respectful of our own knowledge and time, making her Live Classes exactly 1 hour so it is easy to plan around, and the discussions were enriching.”

are to encourage applicants! Loran relies on you to identify these amazing young people,

For decades, career development leaders have pointed out that students thrive when career learning is woven into their daily lives – not bolted on. The OECD (2020) confirms that even small, early engagements in career conversations predict higher levels of career readiness and eventual employment outcomes. CERIC (2020) emphasizes the same point: career development is not only about employability, but about student well-being and agency.

Canada is embarking on a major economic pivot, and the country’s colleges and universities need to be a key driver in that transformation.

The postsecondary system has long been an important part of the Canadian identity. It has driven discoveries, delivered accessible, quality education, and provided economic anchor institutions in communities across the country, underpinning progress and prosperity.

But the sector is not as strong as it once was, and its role in building Canada’s future is under threat. Many colleges and universities are financially unstable, and the sector is often perceived as unresponsive to economic needs; these issues are mutually reinforcing. Postsecondary institutions across Canada are closing programs and campuses and reducing staff to bring temporary budgetary relief. But broader policy and funding changes are needed to ensure the sector’s sustainability.

Like the country’s economy, postsecondary needs to pivot.
