Woman On the Move by Women Mean Business Network

In the past eight years since our inception, we have been offering the opportunity for women in the business, entrepreneur and corporate sector of Eastern Ontario to meet, educate,  connect and empower each other.

We are very proud to say that for the month of June we will be celebrating Women In Trades & Manufacturing.

We are collaborating with our local public board of education, St. Lawrence College, the Kingston Home Builders Association, the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters Association (CME). We are hoping to increase awareness of this career path especially for girls.

Tuesday, June 9th at 10:30am to 11:30am by Zoom online (this talk will be recorded and accessible on our website)
Speaker: Rhonda Barnet, COO of AVIT Manufacturing (Peterborough) and face of the campaign initiative WE CAN DO IT! The CME has initiated the goal to attract 100K women to manufacturing & trades within 5 years! Rhonda will talk about manufacturing as a career path, the how and why, as well touch upon this special initiative to attract women into the manufacturing and trades field.

Tuesday, June 16th at 10:30am to 11:30am by Zoom online (this talk will be recorded and accessible on our website)
Speaker: Nicole LeClair, Engineering Technologist, Red Seal Welder, Professor at Mohawk College. Nicole will share with us the inspiring story of her journey. Nicole has also created bursaries to help women enter in the field of trades.

We are also firming up speakers from the Limestone District School Board to talk about programs and grants available to students as well as career expectations in the trades. In addition, we will be featuring editorial content including videos of student graduate success stories to help educate parents, educators and the business community.

Register here!

We encourage guests to register by 5 p.m. on June 8th, as we close off registrations at 5 p.m.  The actual Zoom Link is sent out to all those that have registered between 6 and 7 p.m. on the Monday evening.
