ASCO Student Affairs and Admissions Professional Group Meets in Minneapolis

The ASCO Student Affairs and Admissions Professional Group (SAAs) met in Minneapolis on June 23-24 before the start of the AOA Optometry ’s Meeting.

They discussed various issues, including

• Developing a Robust Holistic Review Admissions Process in a Health Professional School: Strategies and Lessons Learned
• Lessons Learned Through Student Professional Conduct Policy Reform
• Quality of the Applicant Pool
• Gen Z—Who are they, and what are they like?
• Supporting NBEO Success—Academic and Emotional Support
• Navigating Student Needs—The Growing Demand for Academic Accommodations
• Beyond the Standard Profile—Advising Unique, Weaker, and Transfer Applicants
• OptomCAS
• Optometry Give Me Life campaign

There were forty SAA officers in attendance from twenty-four schools and colleges of optometry.
