Corza Supports Educational Wet Lab for Ohio State Optometry Students

On March 18th and 20th 2025, Ohio State University College of Optometry held an educational wet lab led by Dr. Danielle Orr and Dr. Nicky Lai as part of their hands-on curriculum. Sixty-nine students practiced clinical skills, exploring insertion of collagen as well as silicone punctal plugs. This allowed the students to not only advance their skills but also experience the procedure from a patient’s perspective. The students will also be tested later this semester.

Corza is excited to work with Ohio State, offering educational support for opportunities that allow students a breadth of exposure to products at their disposal. Corza’s Medical Education department feels strongly that the more options a student has and is educated on, the more prepared they become for the real world. Ohio State doctors embody this practice in action as they teach the next generation of optometrists.

Corza helped to offset educational supplies for this lab with collagen and silicone plugs. They will also be offering support for a lab in April focusing on amniotic membrane. Supplies include tissue, speculums, forceps, and sponge spears.

Cora would love to expand its educational support to similar programs.

Examples of product include punctal plugs, amniotic membrane, foreign body removal instruments, meibomian gland expressors, sutures, and lenses for laser labs (Corza carries Sensortek, a line of therapeutic and diagnostic lenses).
