SCO Announces 2024 Honorary Degrees
Southern College of Optometry’s Board of Trustees has selected Dr. Fred Farias III and Dave Sattler as recipients of honorary degrees to be presented during the college’s 2024 commencement ceremony.
A 1987 SCO graduate, Dr. Farias currently serves as chair of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Sattler spent a 28-year distinguished career with Alcon before his retirement as Director of Professional Relations overseeing Academic Development. Dr. Farias will receive the Doctorate of Ocular Science degree, and Mr. Sattler will receive the Doctorate of Humane Letters degree.
