New Webinar Series Will Feature MacuHealth’s Chief Science Officer

To help eye care professionals learn more about the connection between eye health and nutrition, MacuHealth introduced the webinar series Eye Focus by MacuHealth last November. Each presentation examines topics such as nutrition, dry eye and incorporating supplements into the patient experience. All you need is 30 minutes and a computer.

For January’s event, MacuHealth’s Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Jim Stringham, will discuss how supplementation enhances the nutritional synergy between the retina and the brain to maximize performance and protection.

If you’re unfamiliar with Dr. Stringham’s resume, he is trained in vision science and earned his doctorate in experimental psychology and neuroscience from the University of New Hampshire in 2003. He did postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Stringham has spent much of his 25 years of experience conducting clinical trials researching the effects of nutrition on visual health and cognitive performance, specifically on the benefits of the macular carotenoids Lutein, Zeaxanthin and Meso-Zeaxanthin. He has held positions at the University of Georgia, the Air Force Research Laboratory, and most recently, the Duke Eye Center.

If you’re interested in attending Dr. Stringham’s lecture on Wednesday, January 11, there are two opportunities. Click here to catch the first at 12 p.m. Eastern. Sign up here to attend the presentation at 12 p.m. Pacific time. We look forward to seeing you there.

If your optometry school or student organization would like to learn more about how diet and vision are related, Dr. Stringham is available for lectures and presentations.
