ASCO Welcomes Intern Madison Broderick

ASCO Welcomes Intern Madison Broderick

Madison Broderick joined ASCO’s team in late May 2022. Madison is a student at the University of Central Florida where she is majoring in nonprofit management. She is going into her third year at UCF. Go Knights! Madison will be interning with ASCO’s Meetings and Special Interest Groups (SIGs) department.

Within Madison’s first month with ASCO, she traveled to St. Louis for the 2022 Summer Institute of Faculty Development as well as Worcester, Massachusetts, for the Low Vision Educators and Ophthalmic Optics Educators SIG meetings at MCPHS. It was a great opportunity to meet more of the ASCO community and learn about more about ASCO’s SIGs.

Madison is also the Finance Manager for Knight-Thon, the Dance Marathon at the UCF, an organization that raises funds and awareness for the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Through this organization, Madison found her passion for nonprofits, and through it, she gained an interest in nonprofit management.

Madison grew up in Germantown, Maryland, and moved to Fort Lauderdale with her family in 2019. She is now located in Orlando, Florida, and loves the warm weather and proximity to the beach. In her free time, she enjoys attending sports games and being outside in the beautiful Florida weather.

Through her ASCO internship, Madison hopes to develop event management skills and knowledge. She also hopes to learn more about how a nonprofit functions.
