A Lot Going on With the Montreal Contact Lens Research Team!

The Contact Lens Research Team (IRLCM) of Université de Montréal School of Optometry is working on a project to evaluate the choice of lens material vs. the results obtained when wearing gas permeable contact lenses in orthokeratology.

The team is also working on the use of artificial intelligence to analyze the optical effects of multifocal contact lenses on choroidal volume.

A large longitudinal study involving 150 children who will be fitted with a lens to manage axial length and myopia is set to be launched soon. The design of the lens was formulated by the Montreal team (Drs. Patrick Simard, Remy Marcotte-Collard and Langis Michaud, optometrists).

This same team has recently published a retrospective analysis of their approach to myopia control. This article was very well received by peers.
