ASCO Sees an Increase in Applicants in 2019-2020

ASCO experienced a 3.7% increase in applicants compared to the previous application cycle. There were 2,563 applicants who submitted a total of 11,873 applications. For applications, OptomCAS experienced a 1.1% increase in applications submitted compared to last year. This is the first time in three years that optometry has seen an increase in applicants. On average, applicants applied to 4.63 schools and colleges. A full report on the 2019-2020 application cycle will be available at the end of the year.  

Applicants apply through OptomCAS, the Optometry Centralized Application Service, which recently launched on June 30 for application cycle 2020-2021. All 23 ASCO member schools and colleges participate in OptomCAS.
