SCO selected two outstanding alumni to honor for their achievements during the college’s fall homecoming and CE Weekend. Chosen to receive SCO's Lifetime Achievement Award was Dr. Allan Barker, SCO Class of 1975, and for SCO's Young Alumni Award was Dr. Matt Jones, SCO Class of 2009. Dr. Barker is a former president of the North Carolina Optometric Society and Optometry Cares - The AOA Foundation. Dr. Jones was named the AOA's Young OD of the Year for 2019 and formerly served as president of the Arkansas Optometric Association Board of Directors.
