Arizona College of Optometry Welcomes 2023 Cohort to Midwestern University’s Glendale Campus

The Arizona College of Optometry (AZCOPT) welcomed the Class of 2027 to Midwestern University’s Glendale Campus on August 21st. The new first-year students participated in a week-long orientation program to introduce them to the various resources on campus available to support them in professional school. The new cohort met their Dean of the Arizona College of Optometry, Alicia Feis, OD, FAAO, as well as the AZCOPT faculty members that will be preparing them for their future careers as optometrists.

Students also learned more about the different optometry-related clubs on campus, how they can get involved, and how they can give back to their community through volunteering and service projects. Additionally, they learned more about the American Optometric Student Association and the benefits of joining.

The AZCOPT new student orientation concluded with the new cohort meeting second-, third-, and fourth-year AZCOPT students and building connections. The Class of 2027 is comprised of 68 students, with 9% hailing from the state of Arizona, and the rest coming from 27 other U.S. states and Canada.
