What if I want to pursue a residency after graduation?

Given the overwhelming interest from students wishing to pursue residency programs, we’re pleased to share that EssilorLuxottica Eye Care has decided to support applicants pursuing residencies. Here’s how this would work:

  • Selected and approved students may defer their employment obligation for a maximum of one-year after graduation to pursue a residency.
  • If they do so, an additional six months will be added to their employment term.
  • For example, if a student is selected and approved to receive one-year of funding the employment term in which their funding would be repaid by their employer would be 18 months (1.5 years). But if this student chooses to pursue a residency and defers for a year, the employment term would become 24 months (two years). Similarly, if a student is selected and approved to receive two years of funding, their employment term would be 36 months (three years). If this student chooses to pursue a residency and defers for a year, the employment term would become 42 months (3.5 years).
  • Interest would continue accruing during the deferment period.
