Grants Available for Students, Residents to Attend Neuro-optometric Rehabilitation Association 2022 Conference

10 Student/Resident Grants available; Deadline for applications June 15, 2022

The Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation AssociationTM, International (NORA) announces it is offering up to 10 students and residents with an interest in neuro-rehabilitation an opportunity to apply for a student grant to attend the organization’s 2022 Annual Conference (September 8-11, 2022) at the Hyatt Columbus, Columbus, Ohio.

Each grant recipient will receive full conference registration and $500 in travel grant funds. Grant recipients will be required to arrange for their own lodging but can take advantage of a special conference room rate offered by the Hyatt.

To apply for the grant, students/residents must fill out an application form, which includes a 1-3 page essay/paper discussing their interest in neuro-rehabilitation and/or the values and principles of working as an interdisciplinary team with other professionals who provide rehabilitative services to individuals who have suffered an acquired brain injury. The application form should be mailed to noraconference@gmail.com

The deadline for submission is June 15, 2022. Winners will be notified by July 15, 2022.

To be eligible for the grant program, recipients must attend the full meeting from the beginning. Grant recipients will have the opportunity to attend presentations in addition to being assigned duties throughout the meeting.

NORA membership is free to students currently enrolled in a certified college of optometry, allied health profession, education, and rehabilitation program or in an optometric residency or a fellowship program. “We encourage students/residents from optometry, occupational therapy, physical therapy and other specialties to join NORA and apply for the grant,” says NORA president DeAnn Fitzgerald, OD.
