Hoya Vision Care Launches Latest Light Reactive Technology in the Photochromic Category

Ophthalmic lens technology leader and ALLY of the ECP, HOYA Vision Care, announces the launch of Sensity Fast light reactive lenses.

“The number one complaint people have about light reactive lenses is the time they take to fade back to clear,” said Eduardo Martins, president for HOYA Vision Care, North America. He continued, “We listened to what patients have been saying and developed technology to solve this problem and eliminate a barrier. It should now be much easier for ECPs to successfully offer light reactive lenses to their patients.”

Sensity Fast is one of the fastest light reactive lenses, rapidly changing from dark to clear, eliminating that awkward in-between period that most other lenses have. Patients will enjoy a seamless experience moving from outdoors to indoors.

As an ally of the eye care provider, we designed this new product to provide ECP’s with differentiating new technology.

  • Sensity Fast1 has 47% faster fadeback from dark to clear than the leading competitor and 77% faster fadeback than original Sensity.
  • Sensity Fast2 lenses are clearer indoors AND more than 1.6 times clearer than the leading competitor after one minute of fadeback AND more than 2.5 times clearer than original Sensity after one minute of fadeback

“As practices are recovering from the lack of revenue over the last several months, differentiating new technology is a great way to re-engage patients,” Martins continued. “By offering a product with a technology advantage, they can command a higher price and maximize vision plan reimbursements.”

ECPs with questions about Sensity Fast are encouraged to talk to their local Hoya territory sales consultant or visit www.ecpally.com

1Test Sources: Internal HOYA testing conducted April 2020. Data on file at HOYA. Values indicate time in minutes it takes for lenses in the dark state to fade back to clear at 70% light transmission. Sensity Fast polycarbonate lenses were tested against competitor’s generic plastic lenses. Plastic is the only lens substrate provided by the competitor that is standardized.
