OGCA is sharing some exciting updates with you, and we are hoping that you will share your time with us!

We are in full swing developing the “Pathways to ICI” Initiative…and we need your help, please.

Background Information:

Further to Giovanni’s President’s Message, OGCA received funding from the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development to help address employment shortages and gaps, focusing on skills development and training for bringing new talent into the construction industry as well as growth management programs for professional development and retention. This initiative is centered around:

  • New Graduate and Skilled Newcomer Bridging Programs; and
  • On-the-Job Training Toolkit to support a Train-the-Trainer (TtT) Program

ACTION ITEM - Our Ask:

Our program partners, First Work and Purpose Co., are in their information gathering stage to develop training and curriculum programs for new employee placements and upskilling of current employees. Accordingly we are looking to schedule 30-45 minute virtual “pick your brain” interviews by the start of June with individuals currently in the roles of:

  • Junior Project Managers / Project Coordinators
  • Project Managers; and
  • Site Supervisors

If you are interested in sharing your time to help build these programs for the construction industry, please email Khamla Khamphengmueng, Project Coordinator at khamla@ogca.ca.

If you are interested in learning more about the programs and other ways you can be involved at various development and implementation stages, please email Khoa Ly-Kilis, Manager, Programs at khoa@ogca.ca.
