As a part of its Net zero initiative, CaGBC brought together like-minded members to form a Sustainable Materials Accelerator Group. It recognized that mass timber can have a role to play in many buildings and formed a Mass Timber Capacity working group to address opportunities and barriers for mass timber in construction.

As building officials, you are a critical link in the supply chain and our working group felt it important to ask you for your insights on mass timber.
This survey has been developed by building officials, designers, the development community, contractors, manufacturers, the Residential Construction Council of Ontario (RESCON) and both the Canada Green Building Council and the Canadian Wood Council / Wood WORKS! This survey is being sent to you and your colleagues in larger communities most likely to have both the interest and capacity in mass timber construction.
We would like your views on mass timber, what your experiences have been, whether it is present in your community and how that was addressed and other considerations where your unique experience can help guide our work.
