With the recent COVID-19 pandemic, changes to construction methods and the changing nature of insurance in the construction industry, OGCA members are likely experiencing higher insurance pricing.

To help better prepare construction employers, the OGCA and Aon are proud to present "Construction Technology and Risk – A Data-Driven Strategy to Implementing Technology" to explain how insurance underwriting will change to account for technology and why that will help you achieve the best insurance (and finance) terms for your projects.

The session will be held Wednesday, June 2 at 10 a.m. (Zoom) and will be hosted by Jim Blair, Director - Business Development, Partner at Collaborative Structures Limited and Chair of the OGCA Innovation Committee. He will be joined by Chris Greene, Assistant Vice President, National Practice Group - Data & Analytics at Aon, and David Bowcott, Global Director - Growth, Innovation & Insight, Global Construction & Infrastructure Group at Aon.

Topics will include:

  • how Aon is using their extensive repository of construction and built environment loss data to help the industry identify potential sources of risk
  • technologies that provide the greatest impact on risk and productivity
  • the importance of bundling technology solutions to treat major risks, the emergence of the predictive jobsite (via the project IoT backbone),
  • the future rise of a single federated digital platform for the built asset• how technology consolidation platforms will reshape the way project capital (insurance and finance) underwrite the digital project
