OGCA is working with the Ministry of Health to make antigen or rapid test available to more contractors. EllisDon and other contractors have become leaders in rapid testing, which identifies COVID-19 community spread before it spreads on site. It is a proven strategy to protect your workers at a time that community spread to workplaces is a growing problem.
OGCA is working with TRH Group, who provides nurses and medical support to help you efficiently organize your workplace, to provide access the tests and comply with the Ministry’s reporting requirements. Contact David Frame for more information.
OGCA is working with the Chief Medical Officers of Health from Peel and Toronto to make sure that results from rapid tests are not considered workplace spread. We have expressed the importance of supporting rapid testing and we have an agreement from the Toronto Chief Medical Officer to consider the source of the infection in determining if the site should remain open.
