In our next round of advocacy work, we plan to use data and your unique stories to tell a narrative and illustrate the direct impact of COVID-19 to the profession. Tell us about the economic impact to your business and the impact to your team. Are you an employee dentist that was laid off? Are you a public health dentist that is seeing an increase in patient cases? Are you an oral surgeon performing emergency procedures keeping patients out of the emergency department? How many patients are not receiving needed oral health services because it is not urgent? How much PPE (and its related cost) did you donate to the state? Tell us YOUR story. ODA will package these stories together and deliver a unified message about the impact felt on dentistry. Email your story to COVID19@oregondental.org.

We know that patients are presenting at the emergency department or are not seeking care because they are uncertain who is open and able to provide care during this crisis. We also know that should this pandemic get worse, Oregon dentists can play a critical role in providing care to Oregonians. Are you equipped to see emergency cases? Are you interested in helping in your local community? Sign up today to be on our Emergency Provider Registry. By completing the sign up form, you allow the ODA to share the information provided with local public health departments, emergency departments, and other partners trying to find care access points.

The ADA Health Policy Institute (HPI) launched an ongoing biweekly poll to track how dentists nationwide are handling the COVID-19 pandemic. The data collected is critical to informing ADA's response to the pandemic, and they are looking for additional dentists to participate. Sign up online here
