Most members say they are likely to refer membership to their colleagues. As an active member, you know firsthand the value your membership provides. Member-Get-A-Member is the ideal opportunity to share your success by encouraging your nonmember colleagues to join. Just tell the dentists you recruit to include your name on their applications. Then visit the recruiter's form to tell us who you recruited by entering your name and ADA number, and the name of the potential member.

The ODA is composed of a diverse membership and is always working to ensure the association’s efforts and direction are reflective of the collective needs of its members. With increasing professional and personal demands, the overall well-being of dentists in the Oregon community is more important than ever. The ODA's Wellness Program offers a robust network of compassionate Wellness Ambassadors armed with resources to help support ​colleagues dealing with wellness issues, including, but not limited to: stress management, practice issues, debt, fraud, family obligations, illness, injury, depression, loss, grief, and addiction. Wellness Ambassadors are available to assist dentists at all levels of their career, including dental students. Compliance Corner

At their October 25, 2019, meeting, the Oregon Board of Dentistry approved rules changes that will go into effect January 1, 2020. Visit their website here to view the full changes.

HITOC wants to hear perspectives from oral health providers! You can attend a listening session or submit a written comment. You can find an overview of Oregon’s health IT goals and strategies, plus question prompts on their website here. There will be an Oral Health Listening Session on February 25, 2020 (in person or phone/webinar). The 2020 Oregon Dental Conference® is the 128th Annual Session of the Oregon Dental Association (ODA) and marks the association's ​23rd year at the Oregon Convention Center. The conference is the concurrent meeting of the ODA, the Oregon Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (OSOMS), the Oregon State Association of Endodontists (OSAE), the Oregon Society of Periodontists (OSP), the Oregon Academy of General Dentistry (OAGD), the Oregon Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (OAPD), the Oregon Dental Assistants Association (ODAA), the Oregon Dental Executives' Association (ODEA), the Oregon Dental Hygienists' Association (ODHA), ​and the Oregon Association of Dental Laboratories (OADL). Register today at OregonDentalConference.org!

The 2020 ODA House of Delegates will take place September 26, 2020, at the Riverhouse in Bend. Mark your calendars and plan to serve as a delegate for your component society. We look forward to seeing you there!

Registration is now open for the third offering of the Pain Management and Substance Use Disorders ECHO. This 6-session, virtual learning course is designed to build the capacity of dentists and their teams to identify and manage patients with oral pain or substance use disorders in the dental setting. Sessions for this cohort meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 12:30-1:30 p.m., beginning April 16-July 2, 2020. Learn more and register here.
