With increasing professional and personal demands, the overall well-being of dentists in the Oregon community is more important than ever. Historically, the ODA Dentist Health & Well-being Committee focused primarily on substance abuse support. The ODA is working to relaunch and expand the scope of the Wellness Program, supporting stress management, practice issues, debt, family obligations, loss, etc. The goal is to have a comprehensive network of peers and resources to support dentists at all levels of their career, including dental students. Lend your expertise, experience, and support by signing up as a Wellness Ambassador. Learn more about what this opportunity entails here.

ODA is now offering Regional CE and Leadership Trainings. Plan to join us at the inaugural event, scheduled for February 1st at the The LaSells Stewart Center at Oregon State University. The morning CE component of the event will feature Dr. Sam Barry presenting “Review of CDC Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Health Care Settings." The best part—ODA members can attend for free! Current and Future Component Leadership are invited to stay for an afternoon session offering tips and tricks to thrive as a local dental society leader! Learn more and register to attend here. Act soon—space is limited!

Are you interested in serving your state, drafting and interpreting rules by which practitioners are held accountable, and making positive change for your peers? Serving on the Board of Dentistry, while time consuming, is an incredible opportunity to directly affect how dentistry is practiced in Oregon. There will be an open dentist seat on the Oregon Board of Dentistry with a 4-year term beginning May of 2019. To ensure subject matter expertise on the Board, preference will be given for candidates who hold an anesthesia permit. Please contact ODA Government Affairs Director, Jen Lewis-Goff, for more information and to express your interest.

In order to ensure that we are meeting your needs, we invite you to take an important readership survey for our Membership Matters monthly magazine and the ODA Insider monthly eNewsletter. Your feedback will help us better shape our communication services around your needs as a valued ODA member.

Take part in this survey, which will take about 5 minutes to complete.
