Oregon Passes Dental Licensure Reform

After nearly 18 months of advocacy efforts, dental licensure applications in Oregon will no longer include stigmatizing questions related to mental health. The Oregon Board of Dentistry voted to remove “have you ever” questions related to receiving counseling, therapy, or treatment for mental health issues, including substance misuse, from initial and renewal licensure applications. These changes align with updated language already used by the Oregon Medical Board for physicians.
