Please fill out this rapid survey to assess the overall impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency on your utility. NRWA will use the information generated by this survey to support legislation to help all water utilities respond to and recover from this crisis.
The survey is intended for all water and wastewater utilities ("water utility") nationwide. Your answers will be kept strictly confidential. Please fill out one survey per utility. Thank you for time.
One of the biggest issues encountered during this stay-at-home order for wastewater systems has been the use of materials other than toilet paper. NYRWA is encouraging all wastewater operators and/or superintendents to request that their local elected officials release a statement prohibiting the use of such materials. NYRWA has received numerous calls and has been provided photos of materials such as disposable wipes, paper towels and shop towels clogging sewer lines. This could pose a significant threat to public health. Please reach out to your local elected officials for action today.
We apologize to our operators who depend on our Annual Conference training each year for renewal purposes. We will be ramping up our recertification training once the pandemic has subsided.
