Reflections

The COVID 19 Pandemic has changed every aspect of our business and personal life for many years to come.  What are the implications for associations and the way we operate?  How will it impact the associations we manage?

I started my association management career in 1977 after a career in government.  As I sat in my office, with absolutely no clue what I was supposed to be doing, I stumbled upon an organization called the New York Society of Association Executives (NYSAE).
Synergy Awards
The Javits Center. Dress for Success. ASAE. ASME. New York Restoration Project. All will be under one digital roof on Thursday, August 20, for the 2020 Synergy Awards. These organizations will be joined by the Risk Insurance Management Society, St. George’s Society, NYC & Co., Marriott International, New York Women in Film and Television and Jaffe Management as our full slate of 2020 Synergy Honorees.

Join us to honor these outstanding individuals and organizations and celebrate their accomplishments, and the accomplishments of the entire community, over the past year.

Members of NYSAE are invited in or you have the opportunity to meet privately with the professional team at Kellen, NYSAE’s Association Management Firm. Contact Holly Koenig to schedule an appointment today.

It's a time of reflection for many of us. We look back on all that NYSAE has offered its members this past year, especially these last three months, and we are frankly impressed with the growth and breadth of the programs, formats, and member benefits that have been available to us.  It demonstrates NYSAE's deep commitment to the profession and its goal of helping the association and nonprofit community to Connect, Innovate and Grow...

Q.  We’re a mid-sized association with some outstanding accounts receivable. It’s some of our corporate supporters and sponsors who haven’t paid us. How can we collect and still maintain a good relationship with them? We don’t want to be perceived as tone deaf but at the same time we need this revenue for operations?
