Message from the Board

As of this writing, we have all been working from home for close to two weeks. Whether we work for ourselves, an association, or a supplier partner, we have been forced to adapt to a situation that none of us could have foreseen. Many of us have had some prior experience working remotely or producing online programming, but it’s safe to say that none of us have had to do it on this scale before.

You can participate in FREE weekly virtual discussions through NYSAE's Engagement Lounge.  All discussions will be held on Fridays at 11:00 a.m. ET for 1 hour via Zoom...

Ask the Expert
NYSAE received two important questions this week related to conferences, so we’ve provided both questions below. Please click “Read More…” for the answers.

Q. We’re now in competition with a lot of other associations for online content. We were thinking about securing a high-level speaker from a speakers’ bureau. Are they charging the same as if the speaker had to travel and attend our conference overnight? Is it possible that speakers’ bureaus will work with us and our budgets?

Q. Our association’s conference is scheduled for New York City in June. Currently there aren’t any limitations or mandates surrounding that time. We’re unsure whether to postpone or cancel now. We think if we wait, we won’t get space in the fall. What should we do?
